Children

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations.”

     - Matthew 28:19

We believe that the call to make disciples is one that applies to us and that one of the necessary steps in achieving this worldwide goal is to simply start with the kids in our homes and community. The Children’s Ministry of LJCC strives to support parents, walk alongside kids, and offer opportunities that will make disciples.

For more information about specific programs, any of our procedures, upcoming events, or anything below, please click on any of the links below, send Charles an e-mail or give him a call. We’d love to talk with you!

We look forward to getting to know your children and helping you lead them as they grow into disciples of Jesus!

Sunday Mornings

We gather on Sunday mornings as a church community to grow, praise, encourage, celebrate, and connect (to name just a few reasons). As adult followers of Jesus it is crucial to gather regularly and this is equally true for children. A child’s experience each week at LJCC is intentionally designed to help them at their age and development level to become and grow as a disciple of Jesus. Both the 9:00 am and 10:30 services are identical each Sunday.

All children who join us in the Children’s Ministry are cared and loved by a phenomenal team of volunteers who are trained and have all passed the screening process, including background checks.

Infants through two year olds are expertly cared for by a wonderful team of screened and trained volunteers. We believe that if you feel safe dropping them off, they will feel the love of Jesus and identify church as a GREAT place to be. That’s a huge first step in their journey to becoming disciples.

Three and four year olds have a joyful, active time exploring God’s Big Story. They’ll hear how God works in story time and color an “event” associated with that story. Depending on that week's activities, they may sing, talk with “Cheesy,” our (puppet) mouse friend, make a craft, or play on the playground. On top of all that, they’ll be making new friends!

5 year olds through Kindergartners get checked in directly to The Clubhouse.  While at the Clubhouse they’ll explore God’s Big story through activities, worship, the Wardrobe of Wonder, Mail time, and worship response.

1st through 6th graders have a slightly different schedule on Sundays; they start the morning with their parents in the worship service. After a blessing kids are released following the musical time of worship. In large group they’ll connect, practice their remember verse and most importantly, discover a portion of God’s Big Story.  After which they’ll have time to respond before splitting into small groups (1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, and 5th/6th)  where they’ll build relationships and delve into how they can become part of that story! Each week’s an adventure, don’t let them miss even one.

Parents
The task you have in raising kids is not always easy or simple and if you add on the desire of your child becoming a disciple of Jesus, it can become even more overwhelming. Or, maybe you have it nailed and parenting is a piece of cake (if so, let’s co-author a book, you write it and I’ll add a short postscript about how great it is and we’ll split the profits.) Below are a few resources that might help. Click on the links to get more information.
