True North is a learning community for men and women. It will challenge you, encourage you, strengthen your faith and make you smarter. Over 100 participated in 2009 and they are definitely smarter!
The Journey to True North
We need an accurate bearing to navigate our way through this world. Setting our bearings in relation to True North makes that possible. True North is for men and women who are ready for more: more knowledge and experience of God, more skill in discerning his will, more strength to face challenges, more resources to help people you care about. Be a positive spiritual influence in every part of your life.
It is a 9-month commitment to weekly personal study and a monthly gathering which includes dinner, teaching and discussion. Our meetings are the culmination of the work you do beforehand. The readings and the discussions are rewarding. You will meet interesting people.
What it costs
There is no charge for True North but there are some costs:
The True North syllabus is $20. Books will cost about $200. All books are available from Amazon or the Audible digital book format. Dinner will be $15 per meal. Pay for all 9 meals the first night we meet, $135. You will take a retreat to a Benedictine Monastery. The retreat is $250 for 2 nights and meals. You will go on the retreat whenever you want with whomever you want.
When and Where
We meet September to May on the 2nd Wednesday, 6-9 pm, in the LJCC Sanctuary.
