What is Y-Malawi?
Africa, and particularly the region of Malawi, has always been close to our hearts. Several years ago a group of people from our church took an interest in the tremendous needs there and decided they had to do something to help! So, they organized a mission trip to learn more and identified a specific need where they could have an impact. Then, they partnered with World Vision, Opportunity International, several ministries in Malawi and 10 other churches in Southern California and across the country to maximize the results. Hence, Y-Malawi was born! LJCC has agreed to be the lead church on this effort. Currently, over 300 children in Malawi are sponsored by LJCC members through World Vision International.
What are the current opportunities?
We need to raise up a team within our church to take responsibility to support the partnership. If it is a team effort then the load is shared and the job gets done. We are looking for:
1. Leader/church champion
2. Co-liaison/assistant to leader role
3. Director of Development
4. Trips coordinator
5. Communications Director
6. Spiritual Shepherd/Prayer Director
7. Social Director/Minister of Fun
