College Area Pregnancy Services (CAPS)
There are times in life when a crisis happens, one which we weren’t quite expecting. Sometimes that crisis is an unexpected pregnancy. What do we do in those situations? Where can we go for help and for a wise, listening, and sympathetic ear from a Christian perspective? A new life-affirming pregnancy clinic is opening in the Pacific Beach area. It is known as the College Area Pregnancy Services (CAPS). While CAPS has existed for ten years, this is a new office in PB.
While this may not be a current situation for someone you know, maybe you are someone who would like to give encouragement and help to another one who is in this situation (both for the pregnant mother and the father to be). Through CAPS, there are several kinds of opportunities to be involved in this ministry on a variety of levels as listed below. These training sessions begin the end of September.
Volunteer positions include: Lay counselor, receptionist, helpline, sonographer, data entry, cleaning, church liaison, prayer team member, abstinence team member, instructor for client education (post abortion group Bible Study, support group for single moms), housing, transportation, and medical team member.
For more information on CAPS and/or the training dates for volunteer opportunities, please contact the website at: www.CAPSonline.org or the phone is 619-337-8080.
